Carol H. Steier, 76, of Emmaus, formerly of Northampton, died peacefully Jan. 5, 2025, in Phoebe Nursing Home, Allentown. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Helen (Guzara) Swankoski. She and her husband, Frank, celebrated 56 years of marriage together.

She was a 1966 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School.

She was professionally employed as a medical receptionist for Surgical Associates and Fairground Surgical Center for many years. In addition, she was employed at GAC and The Children’s Place.

She was a faithful member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton.

She loved to travel, namely to Aruba, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach, S.C. She enjoyed going to the casino, watching Hallmark movies and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Her grandchildren were everything to her; she loved them dearly and was so proud of them.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Vincent, Kristin Lubinski and her husband, Stuart, Nicholas and his wife, Kelly; grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, Emily, Hailey, Hutton, Noah, Braelin, Camden, Carter Caroline; siblings, Ann Donaldson (late Richard), Mary Susan Gabryluk (Bernard), John Swankoski (Jayne Seier), Eileen Stein (Robert); sister-in-law, Barbara Swankoski; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, David Swankoski.

Family and friends may call 9-10:15 a.m. Jan. 10 in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Jan. 10 in the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton.
