Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank is seeking volunteers to help in the Client Choice Food Pantry 3-6 p.m. Thursday evenings. Volunteers will help the clients select their food and place items in the bags. Clients are very happy to have the assistance and help. This is a great way to get involved in the community. Cyberchance is dedicated to empowering at-risk, underrepresented and justice-impacted individuals by providing comprehensive cybersecurity training, mentorship and career development opportunities. Mentors are needed to help them succeed in the cybersecurity certification program as well as develop team, leadership and career building skills. As one of Pennsylvania’s largest nursing homes, Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth, is always buzzing with activity. Volunteers are needed to assist residents with in-house appointments including clinics and beauty shop. Opportunities available between 9 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday – especially Wednesdays. The Lehigh Valley Zoo’s Winter Light Spectacular returns for the holiday season through Jan. 4. Help spread the holiday cheer! The zoo requires a diverse array of individuals to help tend to the photo booths, performance stage, activities and fire pits during the Winter Light Spectacular. Take the opportunity to get involved in your community, develop new friendships and discover hidden talents while monitoring the donors for Miller-Keystone Blood Center and giving out snacks after they donate blood at the Easton donor center 4-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 1-4:30 p.m. Fridays. Children will read to Pleasure of Your Company Therapy Dog (POYC) teams at the Brandywine Community Library, Topton. This event is 10:30-11:30 a.m. on the third Saturday of the month. To join the visit, dog teams must complete an application and successfully complete the requirements. Details are available on the website, poycdogs.org. Flag football season hasn’t started for 2025 but those interested in coaching, organizing practices and assisting Special Olympics athletes in acquiring sports skills are invited to come out and observe or help with the winter/spring sports programs to help prepare for coaching.
