Motorist dies in one-vehicle crash in Lower Macungie Township

A motorist was fatally injured in a one-vehicle crash in which her car overturned, ejecting her, near a residence along Indian Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, Nov. 23, 2024, according to news releases from Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville and the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensics Center.

Jane E. Zamichieli, 58, of Upper Saucon Township, was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital 10:39 p.m. Nov. 23, 2024, according to a news release from the coroner’s office dated Nov. 25, 2024.

The cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt force injuries due to a motor vehicle collision.

The manner of death was an accident, according to authorities.

A news release from Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville detailed the crash:

A luxury sport utility vehicle driven by Zamichieli was eastbound on Indian Creek Road, east of Olympic Drive, at approximately 8:23 p.m. when the vehicle went off the road after crossing through the westbound lane.

The vehicle continued down a grassy embankment, struck and went through a chain-link fence at the bottom of the embankment and into the backyard of a residence in the 400 block of Indian Creek Road.

The vehicle then overturned, crashing on its roof before overturning again and landing upright.

Zamichieli was ejected when the vehicle overturned, according to authorities.

Emmaus Ambulance crews also responded.
