Moore Township: Moore Township board to meet Jan. 6

Moore Township Board of Supervisors will meet 6 p.m. Jan. 6 in the municipal building, 2491 Community Drive.

The township recreation committee next meets 7 p.m. Jan. 9 at the recreation center pavilion, 635 English Road. The committee works to assist township children and families. Consider supporting their important work or joining the committee.

The township recreation committee is providing an opportunity to purchase a brick for the veterans memorial at the recreation center.

The Community Days committee seeks additional members. The next meeting is 6:30 p.m. Jan. 9 in the municipal building.

Moore Township Land and Environmental Protection Board’s next meeting is 7 p.m. Jan. 13 at the municipal building.

Moore Township is seeking to fill the following vacancies — historical commission: one person for a five-year term; and Americans with Disabilities Act committee: three people with a one-year term. Contact the township office at mooretownship.org or 610-759-9449 if interested.

Bingo is played 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Department, 2718 Mountain View Drive. Doors open 5 p.m.

There will be prizes, progressive jackpot, rob the piggy bank, wash line bingo and lots of fun.

Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church, 696 Johnson Road, hosts a Scout Troop 74 meeting 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday in the social hall. Scouting is for boys and girls 10 years old and up.

Moore Township Police Department warns about traffic increases and urges residents to drive defensively.

The department patrols Moore Township and Chapman Borough. The headquarters number is 610-759-5077. The nonemergency number is 610-759-2200. Call 911 for all emergencies.

The department was founded in 1952. Its current police chief is Gary West.
