Marion Reita Harris, 93, of Allentown, died Dec. 25, 2024. She was the wife of the late Rev. Thomas G. Harris.

Born in Buffalo, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Margarite (Trepanier) and Herbert S. Hawley.

She graduated from Fredonia State University with a Bachelor of Science in music education. She studied for her early childhood education degree at Temple University and continued her studies through Penn State Extension.

She taught in Cuba, N.Y.; Dover Air Force Base; Lima, Pa.; and Frederica, Del. She taught kindergarten at Southern Lehigh School District for 23 years.

She served with her husband at Calvary Baptist Church, Allentown, for 23 years. She played piano, sang in the choir, wrote musical arrangements for the men’s quartet and sang with her daughters in the Harris Trio.

She is survived by four children, Donna Harris Cierlitsky and husband Ed, Stephen and wife Kathryne, Timothy and wife Kathleen and Judith Harris Rivera and husband Johnny; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Jonathan; a brother, Harold Hawley; and two sisters, Catherine Gassman and Lorayne Hawley.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Jan. 4 at the church, 4601 Tilghman St., Allentown, 18104.
