Juan Ramon Sepedro Encarnacion, 37, of Rhode Island, was sentenced to seven and a half to 15 years in state prison for the delivery of a fentanyl.

According to Northampton County District Attorney Stephen Baratta, state police observed Encarnacion making numerous traffic violations along I-78 on March 25, 2022, and pulled him over.

Troopers found a vacuum-sealed bag containing a kilogram of fentanyl hidden in the back panel of the front passenger seat. That much fentanyl would yield approximately 30,000 bags and have an estimated street value in excess of $250,000.
