The Lady Falcons traveled to Lehighton) last week and came up just short as they fell to the Indians 39-38. They opened this week by hosting Bangor (2-4, 2-3) and again came out on the wrong end of the score as they fell 46-32, leaving their record at.
Against the Slaters (1-4 overall, 1-3 Colonial League), the Salisbury offense was unable to find much scoring in the opening quarter and fell behind 17-4. The Falcons turned things around in the second quarter when they outscored Bangor 16-12 and cut the Slater lead to 29-20 going into halftime.
Bangor’s defense regrouped and was able to pull away in the second half to get the win.
Isabella Gonzalez led Salisbury with 13 points but fouled out with 2:07 remaining in regulation. Sophia Gunning scored nine for the Lady Falcons in the loss.
In the loss to Lehighton (1-4 overall; 1-4 Colonial League), the Falcons held a 13-8 lead after one quarter and were up 21-14 at halftime before the Indians mounted a third-quarter come back to get within one (30-29) heading into the final quarter.
Kendra Morgan led Salisbury with a game-high 20 points against Lehighton. The Tribe was led by 14 points each from Leah Uyvari and Rhyliegh Trotman.
Salisbury has three games before Christmas. Wednesday the Falcons travel to Northern Lehigh (2-3, 2-3) and then make a trip to Moravian Academy (1-4, 1-4) on Friday. Their final game before Christmas is at home against Notre Dame – East Stroudsburg (0-4) on Saturday.
