Grabs grab two wins each, Trojan swim teams top PMW
The Parkland swim teams beat Pocono Mountain West Monday.
The Trojan girls team won 136-28 over the host Panthers, while the PHS boys earned a 133-37 victory. Both teams improved to 2-0 in East Penn Conference meets and 4-0 overall this season.
Caitlin Grab won two individual events for the Trojans, touching the wall first in 200-yard freestyle and 100 backstroke. Mia Jenkins (50 free), Farrah Hahn (100 butterfly), Kendall Davis (100 free) and Mackenzie Platt (500 free) all won individual events at the meet and helped the Trojans sweep all three girls relays.
Jacob Grab led the Trojan boys team with a pair of individual wins in 50 free and 500 free. James Chu (200 free), Gabe Krizel (butterfly), Roman Cowley (100 free), Zane Kanarr (backstroke) and Doug Bell (breaststroke) all won events for Parkland, which also swept the three boys relay races.
Parkland hosted Whitehall on Tuesday and will travel to Emmaus Friday for the annual meet against the rival Hornets. Both Emmaus teams are 2-0 through the first two regular season EPC meets.
The meet, which has been referred to as the fastest dual meet in the state, is set for 4 p.m. at the EHS pool.
Parkland earned boys and girls district titles last season, snapping a long winning streak for the Emmaus boys team. The Hornets will be looking for revenge Friday before both teams head into a short break over Christmas.
