Roughies Report: Price to perform with PMEA

Congratulations to Catasauqua High School senior Maliah Price, B-flat soprano clarinet, who was selected to perform with the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 10 band 3 p.m. Jan. 25, 2025, in the CHS auditorium.

Reminder: Catasauqua Area School District will be closed through Jan. 5, 2025.

CASD currently has a job opportunity available for a speech and language teacher/educational specialist. As a member of the CASD team, this individual will plan, provide and assess comprehensive and individualized education, intervention and instruction for eligible learners based on speech and language impairment. This 10-month teacher contract position has an anticipated opening date of mid-January 2025.

Lehigh Career and Technical Institute’s animal sciences and emerging health professionals programs are currently accepting applications for the 2025-26 school year.

For the animal sciences program, made possible by the partnership of LCTI, Lehigh Valley Zoo, Macungie Animal Hospital and Lehigh Carbon Community College, this dual-enrollment program is designed to give students a head-start on college and expose them to a variety of professions in animal sciences and veterinary medicine through job shadows, hands-on training and clinical study at facilities across the region. For the emerging health professionals, made possible by the partnership of LCTI, Lehigh Carbon Community College, Penn State Lehigh Valley and Lehigh Valley Health Network, this dual-enrollment program is designed to give students a head-start on college and expose them to a variety of health care careers through job shadows, hands-on training and clinical study at facilities across the region.

Those wishing to apply should thoroughly review the materials in each part before beginning the programs’ online application. The submission deadline for applications is Jan. 24, 2025.
