Coplay: Club plans goodbye party for bar location
American Club of Coplay is planning to move its club bar to the former hoagie shop, 300 Cherry St. To celebrate this change, the club is planning a Bon Voyage party starting 7 p.m. Dec. 31 at the current site, 32 N. Third Street.
There is a cash bar, pot luck and no cover charge. A Champagne toast is included. The event is for members only.
The Cherry Street bar site is expected to open March 1, 2025.

The Explorer Post’s mission is to promote interest in the hobby of model railroading to 12- to 21-year-olds. A new Post has been started for ages 12-14. Meetings are 7-9 p.m. Thursdays on the second floor of the municipal building.

Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., will sponsor its annual Silvester Feier New Year’s Eve celebration, scheduled for 3-7 p.m. Dec. 31 in the social hall. Ring in the New Year 6 p.m., which is midnight in Vienna.
The event includes a 3 p.m. hot meal and music 4-7 p.m. by the Emil Schanta Band. There will be a buffet, beer, wine, soda, water and juice. Cake with coffee will be served 5 p.m., and there will be hats and noisemakers with a Champagne toast 6 p.m.

Do not forget those in need during the holiday season and throughout the year. Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.
If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.
The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.
