had fascination with science
Walter Owen Wisely, born in South Philadelphia, was the son of Dorothy and Louis.
At an early age, he was both keen with his wits and with his fists.
He attended Clemson University, earning a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering.
After graduating in 1971, he volunteered for U.S. Army flight school and later served in Vietnam as a medical helicopter pilot giving aid to wounded soldiers. He worked for many years as a headhunter in the technical and engineering field.
He had constant fascination with science and technology and an insatiable thirst for knowledge.
A real MacGyver, he could fix anything and was always curious.
He was passionate about history, politics and American values.
Always toting a cup of coffee, he was the definition of a gentleman, kind but direct.
He was a masterful storyteller often leaving listeners in shock or in stitches.
Always genuine and sincere, he made friends and a good impression with everyone with whom he talked but would always speak the truth.
He had a giant heart and uncommon compassion. He was one of a kind.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jennie; daughters Jennifer, Rochelle and Colleen; and son, Louis; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, William; and sister, Caroline.
We will miss you, Dad! “See you when you’re better dressed.”
