Mary Elizabeth Kollar, 41, of Macungie, died peacefully on Dec. 17, 2024, after a brief but courageous battle with a highly aggressive form of ovarian cancer. The daughter of Theresa Polenchar, she was a 2001 graduate of Whitehall High School, a 2005 graduate of Temple University, and a 2009 graduate of Chestnut Hill College.

For the last six years, she was a clinical case manager at Lehigh Valley Health Network and was instrumental in helping to develop and extend the Connections program, a specialized program LVHN runs that provides care for pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorder.

The number of lives she touched between her work in the program and her previous years of drug and alcohol counseling as a licensed professional counselor are immeasurable.

She and her husband Eric were married more than 12 years and enjoyed spending time with their family and friends, especially their two children.

In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her 6-year-old daughter, Harper; 3-year-old son Miles; aunt, Mary Frances Kaminski, mothers- and fathers-in law and their spouses Sheree and Richard Wieder and Jeffrey and Lynn Kollar; brother- and sister-in-law Ryan and Ariel Koll; nieces Kiera and Kendall Kollar; brother-in-law Matt Kollar; and sister-in-law Julie Kollar.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to her children’s education fund, payable to Eric G. Kollar and mailed to 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall, PA 18052-6411.
