Enjoy your Christmas traditions

Merry Christmas! I wish all a happy and blessed Christmas! Do you have any fun Christmas traditions?

At our house we go to church and watch “It’s a Wonderful Life” on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day is all about relaxing at home and enjoying family. It’s a little different since our son moved to Japan. He is 13 hours ahead of us, so he waits until we wake up and opens the presents we sent him on a video call while we open our presents. It’s not ideal, but we make it work.

One last reminder: Schools will be closed Dec. 23 to Jan. 3, 2025. See you Jan. 6, 2025.

Are you still looking to fill up the days when your kids are home for winter break? There are activities that don’t end when Christmas arrives.

The Crayola factory has an event, Colorful Christmas, that runs through Jan. 5, 2025. There are crafts, a scavenger hunt, holiday photo-ops in addition to their regular activities.

Coca-Cola Park partnered with Service Electric to present Illumination at Coca-Cola Park which runs 6-9 p.m. through Jan. 4, 2025. It features over one million lights that synchronize with music every 15-20 minutes. There are train rides, pictures with Santa and Elsa and s’mores around a fire pit!

Last on my list is Lights in the Parkway. This runs every night 5:30-10 p.m. through Jan. 6, 2025.

Advanced tickets are required for these events, so plan ahead and make a night of it.

Did you know the Salisbury Township Department of Public Works has a street paving schedule through 2027? If you would like to see if your street is on the schedule, go to www.salisburylehighpa.gov/township-government/departments/public-works/. If your street is on the list for 2025, the township will be trimming trees along the roadway beforehand.

Mark your calendars for the Salisbury High School baseball cash bingo fundraiser Feb. 2, 2025. This will be held at Salisbury Middle School 1 p.m. with the concession stand run by the Salisbury High School girls basketball team.
