Burglary
Someone used a bow and arrow to break a window to gain entry to Big Woody’s sports bar and restaurant, 3941 Chestnut St., Upper Milford Township, between 2:30 and 10 a.m. Nov. 16, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A change machine, valued at $2,350, along with $300 in change inside the machine at the time were removed, according to authorities.
Terroristic threats
A 22-year-old male, of Zionsville, was taken into custody after he allegedly sent threatening text messages to a resident of East Mill Hill Road, Lower Milford Township, Nov. 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Theft
Someone removed packages delivered to a front porch of a residence along Clearbrook Road, Upper Milford Township, Dec. 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Outdoor plant covers, a microwave cover and a remote control toy helicopter, with a value of $90, were in the packages, according to authorities.
Someone intercepted a package containing Pennsylvania Department of Transportation vehicle safety inspection and emission stickers, with a total value of $2,205, headed to a state inspection location in the 4600 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported June 7.
Forgery
Someone diverted and forged a federal tax refund check belonging to a resident of Village Round, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The resident contacted the Internal Revenue Service when the check did not arrive in the anticipated time frame and learned the check issued to the resident had been deposited, according to authorities. The incident was reported Nov. 22.
Accidents
A pedestrian was slightly hurt when he was struck by a vehicle, knocking him to the ground, along Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 1:40 p.m. Nov. 18, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A news release offered the following details: A motorist was headed westbound near the intersection of Lower Macungie Road and Little Spur. A construction vehicle was stopped on the right shoulder of the road and the motorist slowed his minivan and moved partially into the opposing lane of traffic to get around the construction vehicle. As the motorist drove by the construction vehicle a pedestrian unexpectedly came around the front of the truck and was struck by the minivan, according to authorities. The motorist stopped the vehicle and stayed at the scene. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital. Macungie Ambulance also responded.
A motorist escaped injury when he rolled his vehicle in a one-vehicle crash along Indian Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 1:15 p.m. Nov. 21, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A news release outlined the crash as follows: The motorist was eastbound in the 4200 block of Indian Creek Road when he went off the road, struck an embankment and a wooden pole, damaging the pole. The motorist told a trooper at the crash scene he rolled his vehicle and damage to the roof of the vehicle was seen, according to authorities. Responding agencies also included Yocum’s Towing and Recovery and Macungie EMS.
