Salisbury High School names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently enrolled in the 12th grade at Salisbury High School.

Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mother, Jennyfer, father, Nelson, brother, Edinson and sister, Chloe.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject has always been math. I have always been pretty good at it and as it got harder and harder, it got more enjoyable.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have received a few Lehigh Career and Technical Institute Student of the Month Awards and a Student of the Quarter. I also received a Swimming Most Improved Award and more recently a Defensive MVP and Character Athlete awards for soccer.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities

A. I am involved in soccer, swimming, track and field, chess club and volleyball club.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My next goal after high school is to go to college and pursue a mechanical engineering degree.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date was mostly self imposed – in sophomore year, I decided to sign up for the swimming team without even knowing how to swim.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I don’t think I would like to be remembered for any achievements I get throughout my life; I would much rather have people remember me for any impact I had on them, whether it’s being a good friend or even a role model.

Q. If you could spend an evening conversing with any historically significant person, whom would you choose? Why?

A. I would choose Augustus Caesar, the first emperor of Rome. I would choose him because I’ve always been interested in the history of early civilizations, mainly the Roman Empire. I would ask about his role in transitioning from a Republic to an Empire and how he ensured stability.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Focus on building relationships and doing things you genuinely enjoy; life is too short to stress over grades. Remember that at the end of the day, people will remember you for who you are, not for your GPA.
