Parkland School bus driver
David M. Daniel, 78, of Orefield, died Nov. 24, 2024.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Wilhelm and Dorothy (Stettler) Daniel.
A 1964 graduate of Parkland High School, he later graduated from Bloomsburg University.
He honorably served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Forrest Sherman.
He was a school bus driver for the Parkland School District for many years.
Later, he was a pharmacy technician at various pharmaceutical distribution centers.
A charter member of the Kuhnsville Area Lions Club, and a very loyal member since 1985, he served as treasurer for the last 31 years.
He received the Melvin Jones Award for outstanding service for humanitarian efforts.
He was also former treasurer for the Pennsylvania Lions District 14-K for 10 years.
A member of Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield, he was president of the cemetery association and past superintendent of the former Krocksville Sunday School.
He was an avid Phillies baseball fan and very knowledgeable about baseball history.
His survivors include sisters Barbara Haldaman of Federal Heights, Colo. and Joan Heintzelman of Schnecksville; and nieces and nephews.
