Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road, is planning to hold concerts by Waitin’ on Sundown Dec. 20 and Sons of Izzy Jan. 25, 2025. All concerts begin 7 p.m.

An “Elf”-themed trivia night is scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 21.

The Post’s New Year’s Eve celebration will include an open bar, hot and cold buffet, noisemakers, hats, Champagne and music by Third Hand Band, starting 6 p.m. Dec. 31. This event is open to the public, and tickets must be purchased by Dec. 29 at the Post or online at the link on the Post’s Facebook page.

Luminaria Night will take place 5 p.m. Dec. 21 in the Belmont Glen development, Egypt.

Santa Claus and his firefighter friends will depart from Egypt Fire Company Station 39 noon Dec. 22 to deliver gifts to children in Egypt and Cementon.

Egypt Community Church, 4129 S. Church St., has a Christmas Eve candlelight service scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Dec. 24.

A Christmas Eve service will be held 7 p.m. Dec. 24 at Whitehall Mennonite Church, 4138 Wilson St., Egypt.

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Egypt, will be holding Christmas Eve services 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 24. Children will present a Christmas play during the 4 p.m. service.

The service will be posted on the church’s Facebook page and website by 10 p.m.

In addition, there will be an Epiphany service and Communion 7 p.m. Jan. 6, 2025.

VFW Post 7293’s auxiliary is holding a hoagie sale fundraiser. Visit the VFW Post 7293, The Home of the Tomcat Facebook page for choices and cost.

To order, stop in at the Post or send a Facebook message. Orders are due by Jan. 7, 2025, and can be picked up at the Post starting 4 p.m. Jan. 15, 2025.

People who have a family member who served in the military may qualify to join VFW Post 7293’s auxiliary. Members of the auxiliary are eligible to participate in community service projects for veterans, join events that promote patriotism and connect with others who value military service.

The annual Egypt Memorial Park membership meeting will take place 7 p.m. Jan. 14, 2025. You must be a member to attend, but you may sign up that evening if not already a member.
