Michael J. Churetta Jr.
Michael J. Churetta Jr., 84, of Catasauqua, died Dec. 7, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of the late Rosemarie “Susie” (Molchan) Churetta for 29 years.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Michael J. Sr. and Arlene Koehler.
He graduated from Northampton High School.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
He worked as a field service engineer for NCR for many years before his retirement.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Catasauqua.
He was an active member of Hokendauqua Chapter 535 of Trout Unlimited and had served as its secretary for many years. He oversaw the newsletter and website, which was recently recognized as the best in Pennsylvania. He enjoyed writing stories and poems for the organization, as well as assisting with the group’s educational events.
He is survived by three daughters, Donna Feist, Judith Schultz and Michele and fiance Bill Myers; a son, Scott and wife Debra; seven grandchildren, Alyssia and Derek Leibensperger, Britiny Schultz, Cody Schultz, Nathan and wife Natasha Schultz, Jaden Schultz and Nicholas; six great-grandchildren, Avery, Zayden, Abriella, Nolan, Miles and James; and a sister, Shirley Pany and husband Sylvester.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Devon Decker; and two sons-in-law, Ronald Feist and Bruce Schultz.
There will be a calling time from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 12 at the funeral home, 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, followed by a Mass of Christian burial 2 p.m. at the church, 122 W. Union St., Catasauqua.
