U.S. Marine Corps veteran
John M. Morris Jr., 80, of Macungie, died Dec. 1, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the fiancé of Constance Baran. Born in Riverside, N.J., he was the son of the late John Morris Sr. and Victoria (Green) Morris.
For 37 years, he operated the Colebrook Tavern, in Lebanon, which he owned with his siblings. Before purchasing the tavern, he was a manager at Woolworth’s for 21 years, traveling to various cities launching new retail branches. Earlier in life, he enlisted and honorably served in the United States Marine Corps.
Passionate about flying, he earned his pilot’s license in 1989 and promptly purchased his very own plane, a 1964 Piper Cherokee N25D. Although aviation was his passion, his true joy came from spending time with Connie’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by fiancée, Connie and her daughters, Michelle Reichenbach (Dan), of Allentown and Cheri Longenbach (Todd), of Macungie; siblings, Fred (Cynthia), of Oaklyn, N.J. and Lauretta (Claire), of Lititz; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth.
