Child Death

Nicole Ann Stauffer of Bethlehem has been sentenced following the July 5 death of her two-year-old son.

According to Northampton County District Attorney Stephen Baratta, police responded to a report of the unresponsive child at Stauffer’s residence. Despite their efforts and those of hospital staff, the child died.

A search conducted the following day revealed syringes and containers containing fentanyl in the bedroom where the childing was sleeping. The coroner determined the child died of fentanyl poisoning.

Stauffer pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and will serve was sentenced to 21 to 120 months in state prison.
