Patriot boys hoops aims for district berth

Freedom is looking to make a run back to the postseason this winter, as the Pates look to improve from last year’s 6-16 campaign.

Head coach Joe Stellato enters his 25th season with a group of players that look to make some noise.

“We have a good mixture of experience and youth,” said Stellato. “We have a very difficult schedule, especially early. We are looking to run the floor and play pressure defense. We need to use the experience we gained last year and finish out games.”

Returning players include CamRon Black (F, Sr); Jace Grimmer (C, Sr); Danny Santos (G, Sr); Josh Santiago (G, Sr) Jayden Leatherbury (PG, So) and TJ Jones (G, Jr).

Newcomers this year are Joell McNeil (G, Jr); Geo Acevedo (G, Sr); Elijah Zimpfer (F, So); Tyler Grillo (G, Jr); Chase Sipel (G, So); Brody Stellato (G, So) and Liam Sipel (F, So).

The top teams in the EPC this year include Central Catholic, Parkland, Pocono Mountain West, Nazareth and Liberty.

Jayden Leatherbury is back for the Patriots.
