Kathleen “Boots” Horwath, 95, of Fountain Hill, died on Nov. 27, 2024, in her home. Born in Freemansburg, she was a daughter of the late John and Loretta (McGovern) O’Connell. She was the wife of the late Bernard “Pat” Horwath for 52 years.
She was a 1947 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic HS.
She worked in the accounts payable department at Bethlehem Steel for several years. She was later a manager at the former Fabric Center, Bethlehem.
She was the director of arts and crafts at the Senior Center of Saucon Valley Community Center, Hellertown, for many years until she retired.
She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Bethlehem, where she was a former Eucharistic Minister, choir member and was on the social committee of Prime Time Seniors and director of bus trips. After the parish was transferred to the care of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (a Latin Mass Community), she attended Mass and helped at the parish Christmas market and in the kitchen.
She is survived by two children, James Horwath (Renee) and Kathleen Richards (Matthew); a sister, Anna Marie “Sis” Corvino; two granddaughters, Sarah and Rachel; and a great-grandson, Kaeden.
She was predeceased by three brothers, John, Patrick and Thomas O’Connell.
