Be sure to be serenaded during the month of December

It is almost that time of year – the time for the schools to present their winter concerts!

Salisbury High School will host its annual winter concert 7 p.m. Dec. 5 in the auditorium.

Salisbury Middle School will hold its concert 7 p.m. Dec. 12 in the auditorium.

Salisbury Elementary School will split its concerts over two days. Kindergarten will perform 9:15 a.m. and first grade will perform 10:15 a.m. Dec. 12. On Dec. 13, second grade will perform 9:15 a.m. and a combination of third and fourth grade students will perform 10:15 a.m.

As winter sports are getting ready to start for the year, SHS continues its search for a new wrestling head coach. Anyone interested, should apply at salisburysd.org/page/welcome.

Speaking of things that typically happen in December … it’s almost time for the annual Santa Run! This year both Eastern Salisbury Fire Department and Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company will hold their Santa Run events Dec. 21.

Eastern Salisbury Fire Department will again have Santa Stop signs put out around the east side where you can see Santa!

The township yard waste drop off sites are now closed for the year. They will reopen in the spring.

The Allentown Public Library, 1210 Hamilton St., Allentown, will display some of the 400 dolls in its collection during the month of December. The vast assortment of dolls from many different countries were donated by Harriet Backenstoe and Dorothy Knauss to the Allentown Public Library.
