Pete’s Top-10: Tough PHS team finishes at top

We arrive at the final week of this year’s poll and a familiar face resides at the top with Parkland finishing off the season as the top ranked team after their dominating performance over Emmaus in last week’s District 11 6A championship.

You can never underestimate a Tim Moncman led team, and this year’s group certainly proved that. The unfortunate part now is seeing the Trojans season presumably come to an end this week against state power St. Joe’s Prep.

Two other District 11 teams will still be fighting for state championships this week, as Northwestern and Southern Lehigh have real chances to be the area’s last teams standing.

Either way, it’s time to pack in the poll for another year. See you next season.

1. Parkland (11-2)

Great season by Parkland, but it comes to an end this week against the tri-state team.

The Pick: St. Joe’s Prep 35- Parkland 14

2. Emmaus (10-3)

3. Easton (10-2)

4. Freedom (10-2)

5. Nazareth (7-4)

6. Northwestern (13-0)

Tigers should keep their season alive for another week.

The Pick: Northwestern 28- Scranton Prep 21

7. Liberty (7-4)

8. East Stroudsburg South (10-3)

9. Southern Lehigh (11-2)

Last week’s rank: #9

Can the Spartans keep one of the best seasons in school history going?

The Pick: Southern Lehigh 20- Juniata 17

10. Bethlehem Catholic (6-7)

Last week’s record: 3-1

Overall record: 75-13
