Northampton Area Middle School Food Pantry is beginning a project for Christmas — a reverse advent calendar. Each day, add an item to a box. Bring the box to NAMS by Dec. 13 to be sent home with a student in need.

Here is the suggested schedule: day 1, box of cereal; day 2, peanut butter; day 3, stuffing mix; day 4, boxed potatoes; day 5, macaroni and cheese; day 6, canned fruit; day 7, canned tomatoes; day 8, canned tuna or chicken; day 9, jar of applesauce; day 10, canned sweet potatoes; day 11, cranberry sauce; day 12, canned beans; day 13, box of crackers; day 14, package of rice; day 15, package of oatmeal; day 16, package of pasta; day 17, spaghetti sauce; day 18, chicken noodle soup; day 19, tomato soup; day 20, canned corn; day 21, canned mixed vegetables; day 22, canned carrots; day 23, canned green beans; and day 24, special treat.

Community education classes for the second fall session are here. You do not need to be a resident of Northampton to participate. There is a drop-in fee for the class.

• Crochet a holiday ornament 6:30-7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 and 11 in the library at George Wolf Elementary School. All materials are supplied.
