Joan J. Knopf, 80, of Alburtis, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family Nov. 20, 2024 at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown. She and her husband, Robert M. Knopf Sr., celebrated 53 years of marriage. Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Raymond DeLong and Miriam (Kulp) DeLong Gair.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Emmaus and was a graduate of Emmaus High School. She was a supervisor in the Pennsylvania State Attorney’s office until retiring.
Her family remembers her as a devoted wife and mother, but most of all they remember her for the love and support she had for all of her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Jeffrey; daughter, Jodi DeLabar and her husband, Raymond; four stepsons including, Robert Jr. and his wife, Janice; a stepdaughter; sister, Bonnie Vogel and her husband, Al; brother, Richard Gair and his wife, Alexis; grandchildren, Robyn, Brendon, Morgen, Kaleb, Mason; five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Donald Gair II.; stepfather, Donald Gair.
A viewing will be held 9-10 a.m. followed by a service 10 a.m. Nov. 30 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus.
