Moravian to play in Cape Charles Bowl

The Moravian University football team will be heading to Salem, Virginia on Saturday, Nov. 23 to face Shenandoah (Va.) University for the Cape Charles Bowl in the Chesapeake Challenge Bowl Series at Salem Football Stadium.

Kickoff time for the Greyhounds and Hornets will be at 5:30 p.m.

The Landmark Conference and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced in the fall of 2022 that they are partnering for two postseason football games between member institutions during the 2023-26 seasons. The Chesapeake Challenge Bowl Series involves the top two teams from each conference that are not selected to the NCAA Division III Championship.

The top team from each conference that is not selected to the NCAA Division III Championship will host the second-best team from the opposing conference not moving onto NCAAs in one game of the series in the 2023 and 2025 seasons while a neutral site will be used in 2024 and 2026. The Landmark Conference won both inaugural games in 2023.

The Greyhounds have posted a 6-4 record this fall, the program’s first winning campaign since 2015, which was Moravian’s last postseason appearance when the squad played Delaware Valley University in the inaugural Centennial-MAC Bowl Series. The Blue & Grey finished third in the 2024 Landmark Conference standings with a 4-2 mark while Wilkes University earned the top seed in the Chesapeake Challenge Bowl Series from the Landmark with a 7-3 overall slate and a 5-1 conference mark.

Shenandoah, 8-2 overall and 5-2 in the ODAC, earned the higher seed from the ODAC to face the Greyhounds while Washington & Lee (Va.) University will play Wilkes in the Cape Henry Bowl game on Saturday at 1 p.m. after the Generals finished the regular season with a 6-4 overall and a 5-2 ODAC slate. Shenandoah earned the higher seed for the ODAC after a win over Washington & Lee on Saturday.

The Hounds will be playing the Hornets for the first time in program history on the gridiron.

Live video of the games will be available on the ODAC Sports Network at https://odacsn.com.

Ticket prices are $15 and $10 for minors (10-17), and tickets will be available on Hometown Ticketing. Students and staff from competing institutions are free with ID.
