Jerome Aurelio Ciocco, 89, died Nov. 9, 2024, in Allentown.
Born May 2, 1935 in Mount Carmel, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
He graduated from Mount Carmel High School before serving honorably in the Navy as an aviation boatswain’s mate on the USS Intrepid CVA-11.
He lived in Allentown most of his life where he was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church.
His faith guided him through many of life’s challenges and joys.
An avid woodworker, he also enjoyed watching Penn State football and the Philadelphia Flyers.
His favorite pastime, however, was spending quality time with his family, who remember him for his kind soul and his artistic talents.
His survivors included daughter, Dr. Gina Ciocco-Schmitt and her husband, Jeffrey; granddaughters Kaylie and Cara Schmitt; daughter Lisa McCaffrey and her husband, Hugh; grandson Craig McCaffrey; and brother Francis Ciocco and his wife, Nancy.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Theresa Ciocco, and his parents, Frank and Caroline Ciocco.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Nov. 25 by the Rev. Fr. Joseph J. Kweder in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall, PA 18052, where his family will receive guests beginning at 9 a.m.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or at dav.org honoring his commitment to fellow servicemen and women.
Arrangements were made by Gilbert Funeral Home, Whitehall.
