Thanksgiving celebration: Local churches join together to hold Nov. 25 event

There will be a Thanksgiving celebration at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., Catasauqua, Nov. 25. Beginning 6 p.m., attendees will gather in the fellowship hall to sample breads from around the world. At 7 p.m., the event begins in the sanctuary. The community is invited to join for either or both gatherings.

This will be a Thanksgiving celebration of unity and gratitude within the local communities.

This service will be a joint celebration with participation by churches in the Catasauqua, Whitehall and Northampton areas. A combined choir of the churches, plus Catasauqua Community Chorus, is featured.

In lieu of an offering, participants are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items — soup, cereal, macaroni and cheese, pasta/marinara sauce, boxed pasta, jelly, pancake mix, pancake syrup, facial tissues and toilet paper. These items will be shared by the local food pantries. Monetary donations are also accepted.

Come to the Thanksgiving service to reflect on family and friends, give thanks for all you have been given, hear the Word, sing songs and pray about all of our blessings.

All are welcome to also attend and stay afterward for fellowship and refreshments.
