Public Library of Catasauqua: Relax with books during cold season
November is the month where autumn stops being gentle. The cold and wind get a little more serious. The trees are mostly bare.
What better time to pick up some good reads — or watches if DVDs are more your passion — from the library? Grab your book or remote control, set that plate of pizza rolls on the arm of the couch, get under the blanket your Aunt Alice gave you, and enjoy yourself. The Public Library of Catasauqua is here to help!
An exciting addition to our services is a new resource sharing agreement with libraries in Lehigh, Northampton and Monroe counties. Just by placing a simple hold on an item, it will be sent to us for pickup. No more lengthy interlibrary loan paperwork.
In addition, starting Dec. 1, we will expand our hours a bit. We’ll open 1:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and we will close 2:30 p.m. Saturdays. Everything else remains the same.
The adult book club is reading “The Christmas Wedding Guest” by Susan Mallory and will discuss it Dec. 4.
We always hold our Thursday reading and crafting program for kids 4 p.m. in the children’s room for a wide range of ages.
The Keep Them In Stitches fiber arts group is held 5:30 p.m. Mondays.
Don’t forget to join us 11 a.m. Saturdays for children’s movie day. We’ll be showing the recent live-action adaptation of “The Lion King” Nov. 23.
If you see a book you want to read on the list below, call the library at 610-264-4151 or visit our website, catasauquapl.org, to place a hold on a book. Be prepared to provide your library card number, the title and author of the book you wish to reserve.
Also, if you want to suggest a book for us to purchase, don’t hesitate to talk to us or send us an email at catasauquapl@cliu.org.
