Freedom HS Theatre Company presents the musical comedy “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” Friday, Nov. 22, and Saturday, Nov. 23, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 24, at 1 p.m. in the Freedom auditorium theater. Based on a book by Rachel Sheinkin with music and lyrics by William Finn and conceived by Rebecca Feldman, “Spelling Bee” is the story of six teens vying for a spelling championship.
The performance is directed by Justin Amman and assistant director Natalie Parker. Additional support is provided by choreographer Vanessa Ruggiero, musical director Denise Parker, pit director Liam Mulligan, set designer Trevor Flocco, costumer and prop mistress Priscilla Salazar and sound designer Adam Stoltz. Lydia Hornbaker is student assistant director; Leah Hann stage manager; and Amy Illescas assistant stage manager.
