UPPER MACUNGIE: Various events happening

Lehigh Valley Martial Arts is offering Upper Macungie residents a free community self-defense class for participants ages 5 and older from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at 7150 Hamilton Blvd, Trexlertown.
This class will cover the basics and foundations of self-defense, how to practice and continue learning.

Safe Sitter is a one-day course run by Safe Sitter Certified Instructors from The Nanny Loft LLC 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Nov. 26 in the main meeting room at the Upper Macungie Township Municipal Building, 8330 Schantz Road, Breinigsville.
Safe Sitter® is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger brothers or sisters, or babysitting.
Course learning objectives include General Safety, Childcare, First Aid and Rescue Skills and Life and Business Skills and an introduction to CPR.
Participants will receive a cinch bag with manual, flashlight, band-aid kit, emergency notepad, snacks and water.
Students will need to provide their own lunch.

Ziegels Christian Education group of Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will present a Handmade Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 16.
This craft extravaganza will feature handmade treasures including needle crafts, unique sewn goodies, dazzling jewelry and more.
Plus, every vendor will toss a basket into the charity raffles.
There will also be a bake sale and Jenny Jump’s Junction Food Truck will be selling food.

St. John’s United Church of Christ Fogelsville, 1027 Church St., Fogelsville, will have a sticky bun sale in December.
Plain, walnut, pecan, raisin and coconut are available.
All orders are due by Nov. 27.
Pickup is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Dec. 11 at the church.
