Turkey program scheduled Nov. 17

The program “Turkeys Unveiled: Ecology and Live Encounter” is scheduled 2-3:30 p.m. at the Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus.

Bob Eriksen, a certified wildlife biologist with an advanced degree in wildlife ecology and management from Rutgers University, will lead the session.

There is a cost and registration is required. The program is designed for those 8 years and older.

Eriksen has been involved for nearly 50 years in wild turkey research and management while working as a biologist with New Jersey Fish and Wildlife, the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources and the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Eirksen also has worked with the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Penn State University on wild turkey studies. He has trapped and banded wild turkeys in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Virginia and Sonora, Mexico.
