Theatre company to perform ‘Clue’ Nov. 15-17 at NAHS
There’s murder afoot with “Clue: High School Edition,” set for 7 p.m. Nov. 15, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Nov. 16 and 1 p.m. Nov. 17 in the auditorium at Northampton Area High School, 1619 Laubach Ave., Northampton.
Six strangers are invited to dinner at an isolated New England mansion in 1954. As the guests are greeted at the door by Wadsworth the butler and Yvette the maid, they are assigned pseudonyms. As “Colonel Mustard,” “Mrs. White,” “Mrs. Peacock,” “Mr. Green,” “Professor Plum” and “Miss Scarlet,” these quirky characters with government ties soon discover their host, Mr. Boddy, has been the one blackmailing them.
It’s “game on” for murder and mayhem during a dark and stormy night.
“I can’t tell you how much fun it’s been directing this hilarious, tricky and downright unpredictable show,” said Christine Marto, director. ”From the first read through to the final run, these two unique casts have poured every ounce of their talent, commitment and humor into bringing this cult classic to life.”
Assisting with NAHS Theatre Company’s production are set design adviser Courtney Muick, costume designer Carolyn Peters and production manager Jennifer Moss.
“Clue: High School Edition,” with book by Jonathan Lynn, Hunter Foster, Sandy Rustin and Eric Price, is based on the 1985 film “Clue,” which, in turn, is inspired by the classic Parker Brothers board game of the same name (now a brand of Hasbro). The play was first produced in 2018.
