Annual hike scheduled Nov. 28

The 96th annual Sheeprock Trek and Thanksgiving sunrise service will leave promptly 5:45 a.m. Nov. 28 from the Macungie Volunteer Fire Department, 31 S. Walnut St., Macungie.

Macungie Boy Scout Troop 71 will light the way up Macungie Mountain where a short sunrise service will be held.

Hot chocolate and doughnuts will be served at the end of the hike.

The event is coordinated by the Macungie Historical Society.

Hikers should be prepared with flashlights, gloves and hiking boots.

In the event of inclement weather, the sunrise service will be held 5:45 a.m. Nov. 28 at the Macungie Volunteer Fire Department building.
