SHS names student of the week
Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?
A. I am a senior at Salisbury High School.
Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.
A. I feel grateful for the support of my family: Hawary, Hannan, Hader, Mohamed, Nada and Malek.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. My favorite subject is English Language Arts because I love exploring different perspectives and developing my own voice through writing.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. Throughout my high school years, I have been fortunate to receive recognition for my dedication. I’ve been inducted into National Technical Honor Society, consistently made the honor roll and was named the Most Outstanding Academic Student at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute. I was also honored as student of the month, which has motivated me to keep striving for excellence.
Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?
A. I am a member of HOSA and SkillsUSA at LCTI, CPR certified and have volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital on the Women and Babies floor, as well as visited nursing homes.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. After high school, I aim to attend a four-year university and then go to medical school to pursue a career in health care and help others.
Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?
A. Balancing my schoolwork with my job and family responsibilities has been my biggest challenge, but it has taught me resilience and time management.
Q. For what would you like to be remembered?
A. I hope to be remembered as someone who was compassionate and driven, someone who not only worked hard but also genuinely cared about others.
Q. If you could spend an evening conversing with any historically significant person, whom would you choose? Why?
A. If I could spend an evening with anyone from history, I would choose Nelson Mandela. I admire his remarkable wisdom and strength in overcoming adversity, which is inspiring.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. My advice to my peers is to stay focused, keep pushing through challenges and never underestimate the impact of kindness.
