Oplinger-Hower American Legion Post 899 would like to thank all who have donated their time to help honor Lehigh Township’s heroes with the Hometown Heroes banners. A special thank you to Jeff Weidner, who has gone above and beyond to get this program well on its way to be successful.
More than 150 banners have been sold. Lois Schaeffer has spent countless hours organizing all the application information for the banners to be printed.
Many thanks to the Lehigh Township road crew for hanging the banners and all who posted fliers, called their friends and neighbors to pass along information on this project and manned booths to promote the project.
Organizers reached their goal for Veterans Day to have the first phase of 106 banners hung on the poles. If you have a veteran in the family, the banners would make a great Christmas gift that would keep on giving your appreciation all year for your Lehigh Township Hometown Hero.
Forms can be picked up at the Post.
For additional information, contact Weidner at 484-426-8639 or the Post at 610-767-2393.
