Anna Margaret Sopko, 94, of Bethlehem, died Oct. 26, 2024, at Cedarbrook Fountain Hill. She was the wife of the late Robert T. Sopko Sr. who died July 30, 2019. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Kalman and Anna (Fetko) Fabian.
A 1947 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School, she worked in the tax office of the Northampton County Courthouse after graduation. She later accepted a clerical position at Bethlehem Steel. She was a member of St. Ursula Catholic Church, Fountain Hill where she sang in the choir and served on the Women’s Guild.
She was an active member of the Golden Hillers, the National Sokols and the Ladies Pennsylvania Slovak Catholic Union. A gifted baker, her kiffles, nut rolls and halupkies were the best. Her family, her relationship with God and her church were most important to her.
She is survived by children, Joseph A. and his wife, Suzanne, of Macungie, Robert T. Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Allentown, Mari Ann, of Bethlehem; sister, Helen Fabian; grandchildren, John and his wife, Dianne, Ben, Kaitlyn, Alex, Tyler and Zach. She was predeceased by daughters, Roberta and Joanne Glenn; siblings, Mary Sefcik and Joseph Fabian.
