As winter approaches, the Lehigh Valley Academy Jaguars are preparing for what promises to be an exciting season of winter sports. Now in their second year since the teams were formed, the Jaguars basketball teams are eager to showcase their talents and elevate their performances. Varsity boys basketball team captain senior Chauncey Taylor shared his thoughts on the upcoming season and and how the team has changed since last year.
“First and foremost, our team will have players that have experience under this coaching staff and with this environment,” Taylor said. “It’s our second year as a varsity basketball program, so improvement from last year should be expected. Secondly, our team has access to strength and condition equipment and training we didn’t have last year. In short, this program is growing and developing from last year’s season, and I’m expecting great things”
Lehigh Valley Academy is introducing a host of exciting new developments this year. For the first time, the Soul Steppers Step Team is now an official PIAA sports team, performing across the Lehigh Valley. Recently, they showcased their new uniforms as they marched in the Bethlehem Halloween Parade, marking a proud moment for the school.
Additionally, LVA’s sports program is expanding with the launch of the school’s indoor track program. The track team has been hard at work all fall, training with the latest strength and conditioning equipment in preparation for this exciting new chapter. With a fresh season ahead, both the track team and the step team are ready to make their mark.
On Nov. 16 and 17, LVA’s middle school Dramatic Program will present its much-anticipated annual production, “Matilda the Musical Jr.” Based on the beloved Roald Dahl novel, this exciting performance will showcase the talents of LVA’s Dramatic Arts students as they bring the story of Matilda to life on stage.
