Sally B. Reusser, 78, of Bethlehem, died Oct. 19, 2024. Born in Orange, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Freeman and Laura (Broadbent) Batkin. She was the wife of Raymond Edward Reusser for 56 years.
She earned dual degrees in Art History and Fashion Design in three years from Stephens College.
She was the athletic director for the Moravian Seminary for Girls, now Moravian Academy. She taught aerobics at the YWCA. She was a competitive tennis player for decades, taught youth lessons and coached soccer for the Greater Bethlehem Soccer League.
She designed costumes for a rental shop that supplied professional theater.
She was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation. Several brain surgeries later, she recovered and co-founded Chiari Connection International.
She in more recent years knitted more than 150 teddy bears, a symbol of strength, courage, and healing; for children in developing countries affected by HIV/AIDS for the Mother Bear Project.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by Derek and Tonya Reusser and their children Derek and Maya; Stacey and Jason Reap and their son Casey; and many friends.
