Students collect 1,517 items during Tiger Trot for food pantry

Northwestern Lehigh Middle School sixth graders took part in the annual Tiger Trot on Oct. 25 — a perfectly beautiful fall day.

Each year, the six graders are challenged to donate more items to the Christ’s Church at Lowhill Food Pantry than the previous year.

In 2023, the sixth grade donated a record 1,302 items.

This was going to be a tough total to beat.

However, as always, the sixth graders never fail to deliver.

This year, they donated a record breaking 1,517 items.

Absolutely amazing!

Thank you to all the students and their families for donating to this cause.

Christ’s Church at Lowhill Food Pantry was very thankful.

Sixth grade students could walk or run a one-mile course around the middle school grounds.

The top three runners in the girls’ and in the boys’ races won medals for their speedy times and are highly encouraged to join cross-country next year.

This year’s winners for the girls were Briar Killar with 6:33 in first place, Elle Snyder with 6:52 in second place, and Isla Tyahla with 6:58 in third place.

For the boys, Henry Kline came in with 6:45 in first place, Ben Collins with 6:52 in second place, and Travis Boyer with 6:56 in third place.

After the medals were presented, numerous raffle prizes were given out.

Students earned one raffle ticket, up to 10, for each item they donated.

Three students were also given a prize basket for being the top three donors across sixth grade.

Afterward, the middle school PTO donated delicious Pretzel Factory pretzels to students and staff.
