Plan to attend the Christmas tree lighting ceremony Dec. 6

Salisbury High School Theatre will present its fall play “Our Town” 7 p.m. Nov. 7, 8 and 9 and 2 p.m. Nov. 10. Tickets are available online or at the door.
The Salisbury Twirlers will host a Fashion and Flavor Bingo Nov. 10. Doors open noon and bingo starts 1 p.m. Advance tickets are discounted. Tickets will be available at the door. There will also be raffles, refreshments and door prizes. For tickets, or more information, contact salisburytwirlingboosters@gmail.com.
The Salisbury boys basketball team and booster club will host the Bruce Uhl Basketball Camp 1-4 p.m. Nov. 10 for students in grades three through seven. There is a cost per student which will include basketball instruction, as well as individual improvement and team concepts through drills, games and contests. The next curriculum and technology committee meeting will be held 7 p.m. Nov. 13 followed by the school board meeting.
Looking ahead, as it will be here before we know it, all Salisbury schools will be closed for Thanksgiving break Nov. 17 through Dec. 2. Schools will reopen Dec. 3. Please make adjustments as needed.
Regarding leaf collection, the week of Nov. 4, there will be one self-contained unit working toward the high school and moving south off Emmaus Avenue and north off East Susquehanna Street.
A second unit will be working toward Meadowbrook and Buckingham areas.
The third unit will be working Devonshire to Oxford Park.
The fourth unit will be working toward West Rock Road and all roads attached.
The township yard waste drop off sites are open. The Devonshire site will be open Nov. 10 and 12 and the Franko site will be open Nov. 14, 17 and 19. The sites are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. There are only a few more weeks left of the drop-off centers being open, as they will close for the year at the end of November.
The Recreation Advisory Committee has been planning the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony all year. The family friendly event will be held 6 p.m. Dec. 6 weather permitting. Electricity has been hooked up at Franko Park and plans are in the works for activities, music and a visit from a familiar jolly fellow.
The next meeting of the recreation advisory committee will be held 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in the Salisbury Township municipal building.
