Roughies Report: Rodriguez places 8th at festival

Congratulations to Catasauqua High School senior Anessa Rodriguez, who successfully auditioned for a place at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 10 Honors Chorus Festival. Auditions were recently held at Parkland High School. Rodriguez was up against more than 125 sopranos at the audition; her final ranking was eighth place.

She will be representing Catasauqua High School at the honors festival at Twin Valley High School, scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 7, 2025.

Mark your calendar for Catasauqua Community Cares Program’s winter coat distribution Nov. 16 at the Catasauqua Area School District administration offices, located next to Sheckler Elementary School.

Winter coats will be distributed between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon.

CASD students will not have class Nov. 11. Teachers will have a professional in-service day.

Schools will open, and classes will resume Nov. 12.
