Northampton: Veterans events scheduled
Northampton Joint Veterans Organization will hold its Veterans Day ceremony 11 a.m. Nov. 9 at Veterans Plaza, 14th Street and Washington Avenue. The rain date is set for 11 a.m. Nov. 10.
This year, a veterans commemoration pin will be presented to veterans who served the country between Nov. 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975.

The borough’s veterans organizations and Northampton Area Historical Society will present a program to honor local veterans Nov. 10 in the Northampton Area High School auditorium. The program will start 1:30 p.m. with patriotic music played by American Legion Band of Bethlehem.
There will be a reading of the names of local veterans from the Revolutionary War and the Civil War 2 p.m., interspersed with music of the appropriate era. The last group of names to be read are the most recent Hometown Heroes that were added to the banners on the utility poles in Northampton.
There is no charge for the afternoon’s presentation, but donations are accepted.

An organ concert will be held 3 p.m. Nov. 10 in the sanctuary at Grace United Church of Christ, 902 Lincoln Ave. Marisa Deshler, the minister of music at Grace UCC, will be performing some of her favorite organ works on the Schantz pipe organ.
A freewill offering will be accepted to benefit Grace’s handbell restoration project. There will be refreshments in the fellowship hall following the concert.

Grace UCC is having a hoagie and sandwich sale — Italian or tuna hoagies and ham and cheese or tuna sandwiches. Orders and payment are due by Nov. 10.
Order forms are available 9 a.m.-1 p.m. weekdays or on the church website, graceuccchurch.com.
The pickup date is 4-6 p.m. Nov. 13 at the church.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet Nov. 13 in the Atlas Room at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open 11 a.m.
Tickets will be on sale for the Christmas party. Only ticket holders will be admitted to the December meeting.
Membership will also be collected, so bring your national and local membership cards with you.

An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner (for dine-in or takeout), basket social and bake sale will be 4-7 p.m. Nov. 16 at Grace UCC. The dinner includes spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, roll, beverage and dessert.
Dinner tickets can be purchased at the door. There is no cost for military veterans.
There is no need to be present for the basket drawing, which is set for 7 p.m.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1235 Main St., is hosting a designer bag bingo Nov. 16. Doors open 11:30 a.m., and bingo starts 1 p.m.
Tickets can be bought in advance at a discount or at the door, with specials like the Chinese auction and refreshments, being sold separately.
