North Catasauqua: Scouting for Food collection program to take place Nov. 9
The Scouting for Food collection will take place Nov. 9 with food pickup starting 8 a.m. Suggested items include canned goods, baby formula, peanut butter, hygiene items, pasta, juice boxes, paper products, diapers and whole grain cereal. No glass jars please.
For any items that do not get picked up, deliver to the local food bank.
The food collection is run by Scouting America Minsi Trails Council.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., Catasauqua, is selling homemade pumpkin rolls, ready for pickup the week of Thanksgiving. Orders must be received by Nov. 10.
The 10-inch pumpkin rolls will be made fresh at the church and come in half or whole sizes.
Send your order and payment to the church and specify which pickup time you would like. Options include 5-6 p.m. Nov. 26 or 10 a.m.-noon Nov. 27. Pickup will be in the parish center.

The Biery House Holiday Shoppe, 8 Race St., Catasauqua, returns with a unique and memorable holiday shopping experience, hosted by Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association and Mrs. Nothstein’s Helping Hands Fund.
The shop will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays Nov. 16-Dec. 8. As a special treat, the shop will also be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 29 for Black Friday shopping.
The event offers handmade gifts, home decor and food items provided by more than 50 vendors.
A selection of takeout food will be available for purchase. Offerings will include pierogies, bread and potato filling, halupkies, apple dumplings, soup and homemade baked goods. You can check HCPA’s Facebook page for weekly selections.
The historic Biery House, summer kitchen and mule barn are beautifully decorated for the season. As a bonus, stop and have a photo taken in the Victorian carriage. Photos with Santa will be available on select days. Family groups and pets are welcome.
The Biery House is located at 8 Race St. Shoppers must enter the parking lot behind the property, via Union Street. There is no access from Race Street. From Race Street, turn onto Front Street and take the first left on Union Street. For GPS directions, enter 5 W. Union St.

The next North Catasauqua Borough Council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 18 in the basement-level meeting room at borough hall, 1066 Fourth St. This meeting is subject to cancellation, so check the borough website at northcatasauqua.org for any changes.

The annual North Catasauqua small Town USA Christmas tree lighting will be 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St. The rain date is Dec. 2.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church offers a biweekly grief support gathering. The group meets 10 a.m. every other week.
This is a nondenominational gathering that offers conversation and support for those who have lost their spouse. All group participation is confidential.

St. John Fisher Catholic Church is forming a new autumn bible study, held 6:45-7:55 p.m. Monday nights.
The Bible study centers on the development and sourcing of Scripture among early church fathers. There will be video and instruction with a study booklet provided.
There is a donation cost to help defray the costs of the program.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., has bargains and unique items for sale, including fall and winter clothing and small household items.
Regular hours at the shop are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The shop is always happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing, household items and toys during store hours. Proceeds from the shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.
