East Allen manager presents no-tax-hike budget
At the Oct. 24 East Allen Township Board of Supervisors workshop meeting, township Manager Brent Green presented a no-tax-hike general fund budget draft. Green noted it is the 19th consecutive year of holding the line on the tax millage.
When finalized, a copy of the 2025 budget will be available from the township’s office.
Supervisors approved a resolution granting conditional preliminary final approval for the Compass Business Park East subdivision and land development plan. The project is near Snowdrift Road and Colony Drive. The plan is for two parcels with 45 total apartment units.
Construction is to begin as soon as possible after all permits are approved.
The board denied a waiver request for the 6099 Airport Road project. It is a request by the property owner to build two pole buildings on the property to house additional equipment. It was suggested the owner have a land development evaluation plan before requesting the waiver again.
The Lehigh Valley hazard mitigation plan was adopted by the board. The township is required to review and adopt the plan every four years by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
A Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO) waiver request was denied for the Sunny Slope Farms major subdivision.
An extension of plan recording for the farmhouse major subdivision was board approved. This is a second extension, and it is expected there will be no additional extension requests, Green noted.
The bidding of the Bicentennial Park habitat restoration project was authorized by supervisors. According to Green, the project is expected to be awarded in January or February 2025, and the project is expected to conclude within 180 days.
