Age makes my hair seem thinner. Medicine makes my hair fall out. Thinner is not much of a problem, as I started with very dense, thick hair. When I was about 8 years old, my mother decided I should have short hair. She was happy until she realized she couldn’t get a brush or comb through it! So far, my hair has grown back at least as fast as it sheds from the medicine.
Still, when I went to get my hair cut recently, I was a nervous wreck. There was a short delay, and all I could imagine was my hair falling out once it was cut. Rational? Not at all. But fear seldom is.
Thankfully the stylist was nice, and she spent a little time talking to me in the beginning of the appointment. And I did my best not to look down once she started cutting. I had my glasses off, so everything was a bit blurry anyway.
The time waiting for the color to set was a while, but it was happily interrupted by a day job phone call, so I could focus on something other then my hair.
When I left the salon, I didn’t have my hair blow dried. I don’t blow dry my hair unless it’s really frigid and I have to go out. Then of course we had an activity to go to. We had a great time at the B Social kids Halloween party. We came home from that and I took a nap.
When I woke up, I brushed my hair, and was very happy with the result. I strongly recommend Shear Ambition on Nazareth Pike.
Lexi, who was my stylist, is offering free men’s cuts for a little while. She was cutting a young man’s hair just before my appointment, and his hair looked great.
Wish me luck, I have an interview for a different day job soon. Fingers crossed. At least I know my hair will look good!
