Luke P. Cunningham, 88, died October 24, 2024, in Estero, Florida. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Luke T. and Barbara (Trabel) Cunningham. He was the husband of Christine Cunningham.
He was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic HS and Keystone Junior College.
His career was with the Cunningham family business, West Side Electrical Service, which was purchased by his father in 1935. Together with his sons, he merged with RL Hammer Electric and formed West Side Hammer Electric.
He was a member and a governor of the board of directors of the Penn-Del-Jersey chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). He was a member and past president of the Bethlehem Rotary Club. He was on the board of directors of Lehigh Valley Industrial Park (LVIP) and New Bethany Ministries. He was on the trustee advisory board and was a former vice president of the Blue Heron Home Owners Association. He was a past president of the Winding Stream and Whisper Creek Homeowners Associations. He was a board member of the Spring Run Charitable Foundation for 12 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, Lucille Palangio (Thomas), Luke R. (Dona), Linda Galliher (Mick), Lisa Swingle (Paul), Lora Fondl (Robert) and Lee (Gail); five stepchildren, Michael Trapp (Sue), Linda Reese (Joseph), Susan Szilagyi (Jeff), Carol Trapp and William Trapp (Tracy); a brother, Michael (Jeanie) Cunningham; 23 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Cunningham; and a sister, Barbara Breiner.
