Pedestrian accident
A pedestrian, of Emmaus, was badly hurt when struck by a vehicle while on Country Club Road, near Riverbend Road, in Lower Macungie Township, 11:19 a.m. Oct. 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The person was walking on the right side of the road eastbound when struck by the bumper of a vehicle. According to a news release, the pedestrian “remained on the vehicle for approximately 10-15 feet” before falling to the ground. The vehicle then traveled over the pedestrian’s left leg. “The pedestrian sustained serious bodily injury as a result of this collision,” according to the news release. Macungie EMS and the Emmaus Fire Department also responded to the crash. The motorist was charged with alleged careless driving.
DUI crash
A 25-year-old male, of Whitehall, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a one-vehicle crash in the 3400 block of South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Upper Milford Township, 1:12 a.m. Sept. 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
DUI
An 82-year-old male, of Emmaus, was allegedly driving under the influence in the 700 block of Walnut Street, Emmaus borough, 10:10 p.m. Sept. 30, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 36-year-old female, of Allentown, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the area of Krocks Court and Quince Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:35 p.m. July 27, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Retail theft
A 78-year-old male, of Macungie, was arrested for retail theft after allegedly removing grocery items with a total value of $69.56 from Weis Markets, 3440 Grandview Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 3:02 p.m. Sept. 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Investigators were at the store to look into an earlier retail theft when the suspect in that earlier theft returned to the store and allegedly committed an additional retail theft, according to authorities.
A 51-year-old male, of Bethlehem, was taken into custody for retail theft and receiving stolen property after he allegedly removed clothing valued at $733.34 and $11.82 worth of food products from retailer Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:27 p.m. Sept. 16, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 38-year-old male, of Allentown, allegedly removed 11 door key pad security locks, with a total value of $1,760, from Home Depot, 5877 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, between July 26 and Aug. 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. According to authorities, the male allegedly used a bar code for a lower priced item he concealed from view while at a self-check terminal in the store to purchase the locks including two purchases done Aug. 23.
Theft
A resident of Woodmont Circle, Lower Macungie Township, told authorities a relative removed approximately $60,000 from their bank account, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Aug. 29.
A resident of Shiloh Road, Lower Macungie Township, learned Sept. 18 someone used his personal information to withdraw $3,500 from his checking account through a New Jersey branch office of his bank, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A resident of Aster Road, Lower Macungie Township, was swindled out of a cellphone and charger bundle, valued at $575, when the resident sold the items through an online auction site, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The buyer later said the phone was defective and was granted a refund from the auction site. The buyer allegedly kept the phone and returned the package to an incorrect address. The Lower Macungie Township resident contacted the auction site for reimbursement for the stolen phone.
Vehicle theft
Someone removed a dark green 2001 Ford F-350 pickup truck from the Lower Macungie Township public works building, 5536 Indian Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, at approximately 8:42 p.m. Oct. 2, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The truck was described as a work truck. The truck was later recovered by Salisbury Township Police, according to authorities.
Disorderly conduct
A 46-year-old male, of Illinois, was cited for disorderly conduct after he allegedly threw a cup of soda in another person’s face during an argument at a location along Congdon Hill Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 2:09 p.m. Sept. 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Harassment
A 44-year-old female, of Allentown, was cited for harassment and disorderly conduct after she allegedly threw an iced coffee on an employee and around the checkout area of Wawa convenience store and gas station, 4900 Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 4:08 a.m. Aug. 31, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. She also allegedly yelled obscenities and insults at the employee before throwing the empty coffee cup at the employee.
A 14-year-old female, of Emmaus, allegedly attacked another student in the hallway between classes at Lower Macungie Middle School, 6299 Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:15 p.m. Sept. 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A teacher was struck several times when intervening in the altercation, according to authorities.
A 22-year-old male, of Zionsville, was cited for harassment after he allegedly intentionally repeatedly revved his motorcycle engine in front of a residence along East Mill Hill Road, Lower Milford Township, 11:27 a.m. Sept. 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The male also allegedly sent unwanted messages to a person at the residence, according to authorities.
A 45-year-old male, of Alburtis, was cited for harassment after he allegedly punched another person in the face outside a residence along Schoeneck Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:15 p.m. Sept. 3, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Simple trespass
A 13-year-old male, of Allentown; a 13-year-old male, of Trexlertown and two 13-year-old males, of Macungie, were found in an area designated as “No Trespassing” along Trexlertown Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:26 p.m. Sept. 22, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Identity theft
A resident of Green Hill Drive, Lower Macungie Township, learned someone used her personal information to try to electronically open several credit accounts, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Sept. 15 at the state police station, Schantz Road.
