Halloween fun in Emmaus

PRESS PHOTOS BY JIM MARSHLower Macungie Middle School student Hudson Mengel, of Emmaus, is a little awed as he steps forward to accept a Halloween chocolate treat at a creative candy handout display along Spruce Street Oct. 25 during the borough’s designated Halloween trick or treat night. Emmaus resident John P. Miller said he spent “quite some time” preparing his simulated jail cell he hoped would enliven his neighborhood’s annual candy crawl festivities. Locked in his cell, Miller is attended by his wife, Brenda, the jail’s “warden.”
Hundreds of Emmaus residents flock to a parking lot at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St., Emmaus Oct. 25 for the borough’s designated Halloween trick or treat night. Youngsters find treats being dispensed out of vehicle trunks and enjoy hot chocolate under tents staffed by church members.
